Shohei Ohtani Injury: Angels GM Drops a Bombshell on Friday

Revelations Emerge About Shohei Ohtani’s Injury on First Game Day Following News, Angels GM Shares Startling Details

As details continue to unfold surrounding Shohei Ohtani’s torn elbow ligament, the Angels’ general manager Perry Minasian delivered a surprising update to reporters. He revealed that, remarkably, Wednesday marked the first instance this season that Ohtani underwent any form of imaging on his problematic right elbow.

This revelation comes after months of Ohtani expressing arm fatigue, a sentiment shared by Newsday writer Laura Albanese on Twitter.

Given Shohei Ohtani’s significance to the team, it does raise questions about the level of attention paid to his complaints throughout the season.

To the Angels’ credit, Minasian explained that Ohtani never signaled any pain to the team until Wednesday afternoon. His struggles were previously centered around blister and fingernail issues on his pitching hand, as well as cramping and the aforementioned fatigue.

At this juncture, hindsight and assigning blame do little to alleviate the situation. It’s an unfortunate setback for Shohei, the Angels, and the entire baseball community. It might simply be the price Ohtani had to pay to pursue his ambition of being the sport’s premier two-way player.
